Isaiah 63:17

Why, O Lord, do You cause us to stray from Your ways

And harden our heart from fearing You?

Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.

One dreadful condition in our Christian walk is to stray away from God and not be concerned about it. In Isaiah 63:17, the prophet laments that the Israelites no longer walked in God’s ways and no longer feared His Name. But how did this happen? How is it possible for a nation who experienced God’s power and received God’s revelation to turn away from Him? If we look at Israelite history, it was not a national decision to drop God from their religious practice and pursue another god or gods. The reason is two-fold: THEY FORGOT TO LOVE GOD AND TO LOVE HIS WORD.

This Week's Passion Verse

May 25 to 31— Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few. — Ecclesiastes 5:2

The Rock Badger's Pit

In the previous article, we saw from Scriptures like Ephesians 3:8-12, John 17:3, and 1 John 2:12 that Jesus Christ is at the very heart of God's plan to save lost sinners like us.

The Gospel Message

What is the GOSPEL? The glorious gospel message includes all the truth about Jesus Christ.

With this message, God has provided a way to reconcile men to Him and bring them to eternal life in Jesus Christ, to forgive them of their sins and save them from sins’ penalty of eternal death. This section features the full Gospel with the corresponding Bible passages so that readers can refer back to the Word and study this wonderful truth on their own.
